Server Rules

Follow these rules to keep Union Roleplay safe, fair, and fun for everyone.

⚠️ ZERO-TOLERANCE RULES ⚠️

[1] Mature Behavior

You must be mature enough to handle heated situations. You cannot come to Discord after every gang fight or minor IC matters.

[2] Hate Speech & Slurs

Racial slurs, derogatory statements, or homophobic terms are strictly forbidden. Zero tolerance for this behavior.

[3] Toxicity

Being toxic on stream, Twitch chat, Discord, or in people's DMs is not tolerated. Speaking against CEYLON RP can result in a permanent ban from the server.

[4] Promoting & Advertising

Promoting and advertising other servers using our platforms is a bannable offense.

[5] Breaking Character

Always stay in character. If there is a problem, role-play out the scenario (don't OOC between scenarios; finish the situation and discuss problems later, out of city).

Do not:

  • Do actions in-game to bait others into breaking roleplay
  • Say things like "Get that person's ID", "I will submit a ticket", "I am going to speak with an admin", "That is so powerful"
  • Approach staff/admin in-game to deal with issues. Use /report instead

[6] Metagaming

Using information that you did not obtain in-character to influence your character's actions is forbidden.

Metagaming includes:

  • Relaying IC information through any non-IC method that could change current or future RP scenarios
  • Mixing IC and OOC information without benefit (e.g., calling someone by their player ID)
  • Any interaction or knowledge from alternate characters with your main character

[7] Powergaming

Role-playing outside your character traits, abusing mechanics, and using non-in-game means to gain an advantage is not allowed.

Powergaming includes:

  • Creating role-play scenarios with only one possible outcome
  • Not relaying accurate information using /me (e.g., medic checks you but you don't mention your gunshot wounds)
  • Tazing, using a beanbag shotgun, or tackling to stun someone, then shooting/beating them before they get up
  • Talking or giving tactical information while downed (roleplay injuries instead)
  • Using radio or talking underwater
  • Carrying someone while driving or riding a bike
  • Cuffing without hands-up or being tackled/tased
  • Abusing /me RP (e.g., injecting someone to make them forget everything)
  • Talking over someone and not letting them negotiate or save themselves
  • Tying someone's legs and not letting them move

[8] Combat Logging

Logging out during an active situation to avoid role-play is exploitation.

Combat Logging includes:

  • Logging out during a firefight, police chase, or arrest
  • Logging out while dead awaiting a medic
  • Logging out while restrained/detained
  • Logging out to save gear or rage-quitting

Note: We understand crashes and connection issues happen. Staff will review logs to determine if genuine issues occurred.

[9] RDM (Random Deathmatch)

Killing people without a story leading up to it is not allowed.

Rules:

  • Always initiate and make people aware of what you are doing and why
  • Based on meaningful story (e.g., gang wars), groups may shoot without initiation when there's established conflict

[10] VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch)

Never intentionally use a vehicle as a weapon to kill or injure others.

VDM includes:

  • Intentionally running people over
  • Causing vehicle explosions to kill people in high-traffic areas
  • Excessive speeding into motorcycles where the rider dies
  • Reckless driving that would "beyond reasonable doubt result in death"

[11] Suppressive Fire

Criminals are NOT required to use verbal communication before firing at PD or civilians. However, they must use suppressive fire if they don't verbally communicate first.

Suppressive Fire means:

  • Firing shots at PD/civilians with intent to push them into cover WITHOUT injuring them
  • Giving PD/civilians opportunity to take cover, react, and fire back
  • Only then shooting with intent to down targets

Examples: Shooting at feet, car doors/hoods, PD helicopter sides/tail

Must have IC reason to start a gunfight.

[12] New Life Rule

When you respawn at the hospital after being downed, your character forgets all events leading up to that death.

A new life starts:

  • When you are executed
  • When you respawn

A new life does NOT start if:

  • You are downed (awaiting reviving)
  • You disconnect (end of session)
  • You are victim of clear RDM/VDM

Restrictions:

  • Cannot return within 500m of death location for 10 minutes real-time
  • Cannot be involved in same combat situation until it's over or 10 minutes pass
  • Cannot respawn if police/EMS is on the way to your scene
  • Cannot respawn if in active situation
  • Cannot call 911 if downed at end of scenario where locals can't see you

Revenge RP following this rule will result in kicks/bans.

[13] 6-Man Rule

Criminal activities are limited to 6 players maximum at a time.

Rules:

  • People acting as spotters on radio count as part of your group
  • Maximum 4 people on one radio station during active scenario
  • Cannot bring back active situation to your turf where 15+ gang members wait
  • When a group of 6 engages a group of 6+, they do NOT have to drop numbers
  • Cannot involve yourself in a situation that already has max members from your group

[14] /OOC Usage

The ONLY time you should use /OOC is for RP-stopping technical issues. Everything else should use:

  • Discord support channels
  • /report feature
  • RP Appreciations via Discord only

[15] Prohibited Role-play

Absolutely NOT Allowed:

  • Rape RP
  • Suicide RP
  • Pregnancy RP
  • Bomb RP, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Chemical/Biological Warfare

Restricted:

  • Erotic RP: Private interiors only; Be mindful of YouTube TOS
  • Torture RP: Allowed only if all parties agree
  • Animal RP: Staff only unless approved

[16] Verbal/Digital Content Permission

  • Cannot play copyrighted music unless everyone at scenario agrees (NOT allowed at government places like Pillbox/PD)
  • Normal abusive words allowed in roleplay
  • Highly offensive abusive words only with mutual understanding

[17] Cop Baiting

Intentionally baiting officers is strictly not allowed.

Cop Baiting includes:

  • Honking horns to annoy officers on traffic stops
  • Intentionally interfering with ongoing RP to get police attention
  • Intentionally hitting, ramming, shooting at police without proper RP
  • Crowding during a 10-90 situation
  • Using police phone app to find officers online
  • Using 911 or anonymous calls to disrupt police
  • Triggering alerts to bait police (e.g., continuous house robberies)

📋 SERVER GUIDELINES 📋

Low Effort Role-play

You are expected to put quality effort into your role-play:

  • Always shooting and running from police in situations where it isn't warranted may be low-effort RP
  • Example: Running from traffic stop for a speeding ticket
  • Do NOT intentionally try to get pulled over or chased (Cop Baiting)
  • Do NOT use NPCs like shop clerks as hostages - find real players
  • Do NOT vulture pockets of people in scenarios you're not involved in
  • Respect EMS roleplay and roleplay your injuries in Pillbox
  • Respect others' roleplay in general

Fail RP / NVL (Not Valuing Life)

Not role-playing realistically or not fearing for your life when threatened by a weapon is forbidden.

Perma-Death

Cannot force someone to perma-death.

If you choose to perma your character:

  • Role-play the scenario with EMS when they find you
  • If no EMS available, police provide certification
  • Use /me to indicate no pulse / death from injuries
  • Your character will be deleted after perma-death RP

Emergency Services Rules

LEO & EMS:

  • Being corrupt is NOT allowed
  • Cannot provide items or information from your job to non-LEO/EMS
  • Cannot abuse mechanics

At Pillbox/MRPD:

  • Scenario ends once suspect is handcuffed at facility
  • Cannot take hostages to trade for suspects
  • Cannot start shootout to break out suspects
  • Be mindful that lockdowns impact entire city

Robbing Rules

  • Robbing every player you see does NOT benefit roleplay
  • Robberies should be well thought out and uncommon
  • It should NOT be your character's trait to rob people
  • Chain robbing is NOT tolerated: Continuously hitting same location without proper LEO engagement
  • Cannot rob Bank, Jewelry, or convenience stores 30 minutes before tsunami
  • If in group, only 1 team can hit banks/jewelry per time-slot
  • Cannot initiate RP with intention to rob (bait RP)
  • Using custom vehicles for robberies = Powergaming

Criminal-LEO Interactions

  • May kidnap LEOs only with major IC motive and heavy RP involved
  • Kidnapping LEO = Code Red situation; officers can shoot once hostage is in custody
  • Cannot kidnap LEO already actively RPing in scenario you're not involved in
  • Police are NOT loot boxes - do NOT steal food, repair kits, lockpicks
  • Stealing weapons/armor/ammo acceptable only if necessary to continue scenario
  • Stealing PD weapons results in raid warrant - take at your own risk
  • Cannot hold up cop at gunpoint for equipment
  • Be mindful of LEO presence - don't take advantage of low staffing
  • Cannot use phone app to check cop count online
  • During prison escort, cannot ambush right at prison gate - focus on prisoners/bus

Civilian-Medical Department Interactions

  • Cannot kidnap or take anyone from medical as hostage
  • Must wait for ambulance when medical units available (don't drive to hospital)

No Crime Zones (NCZ)

Inside or near NCZ:

  • May NOT commit crime or disobey LEO orders
  • ARE allowed to flee, lie, or scam IC
  • Only allowed to hide/use NCZ for protection legitimately
  • If using NCZ for protection, attacker must wait for you to leave area

After criminal activity:

  • Cannot go to NCZ within 15 minutes after engaging in crime/chase
  • Exception: If turning yourself in to LEO

NCZ Locations: Legal gambling establishments, government/LEO offices, hospitals, religious constructions

Multiple Character Rules

  • Cannot have whitelisted job (PD/MD/Mechanic) on one character and gang member on second
  • Exception: Can be police and have criminal (non-gang) second character
  • Cannot mix information, cash, or items between characters
  • Can only be in ONE gang with recognized status per account
  • Other characters cannot be part of same gang/agenda

Other Important Rules

  • Fake hostages (using friends) for robbery = NOT allowed
  • Cannot interact with clearly AFK players in removed positions
  • Recording: Use emotes for photos; camera can pick up audio if in range
  • Cannot take downed people, revive, and take as hostage (catch alive instead)
  • Mini/half-sized player peds cannot shoot from vehicles
  • Do NOT approach staff in-game for issues - use /report
